Sumitomo T71C fusion splicer

T71C

The Sumitomo T-71C core alignment fusion splicer is smaller, lighter, faster and more durable then its predecessor weighing in at just 2.1kgs including the battery. The battery life is in excess of 200 cycles with a 7 second splice time and an incredible 28second heat shrink cycle for a 60mm sleeve. With Sumitomo’s characteristic dual oven technology, engineer output can be vastly increased.

A touch screen display makes the T-71C easy to use. The rugged, durable design and remote technical support work to reduce the cost of ownership. All this while setting new boundaries for the performance of core alignment fusion splicers with reduced splice time and increased environmental resilience.

Features

  • Core Aligning Splicer
  • Touch-screen operation
  • Supports Fibre Types BIF (ITU-T G.657), EDF, SMF (ITU-T G.652, MMF (ITU-T G.651), DSF (ITU-T G.653), NZDSF (ITU-T G.655),
  • Splice Time 7.5sec. (SMF standard mode),
  • Fibre Diameter : Coating diameter: 100μm~1,000μmCladding diameter: 80μm~150μm,

Highlights

  • Compact, lightweight and fast core aligning fusion splicer
  • Durable, rugged and IP52 compliant
  • Remote software upgrades and support
  • Versatile and simple to use with full touch screen control
  • Universal clamps for primary coated fibre, tight, semi-tight and loose buffer fibre
  • 5mm cleave length for strong and compact splices

The cladding clamps are integrated in the wind hood, removing four steps from the splice process. If badly curled fibres fail to load correctly, the cladding clamps can be disengaged from the wind hood and operated independently to help correct fibre positioning.
