ANDO INTRODUCES 10G PORTABLE AND MODULAR BERT UNITS

Ando Electric Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, has developed the AP9945/9946 portable and AQ2200-600 Series modular 10Gbit/s BERT (Bit Error Rate Test) units. These two models, on display at the Fiber Optics Expo (FOE 2004) at Tokyo Big Site from January 28, 2004, were launched internationally in February.
The AP9945/9946, developed to serve the market for digital home appliances, are compact, powerful measuring instruments that include an easy-to-carry 10Gbit/s BERT (AP9945) and an Electrical/Optical and Optical/Electrical Converter (AP9946).
The AQ2200-600 Series BERT, developed as a plug-in module for the AQ2200 Multi-Application Test System, is a flexible measurement module-based system (10Gbit/s BERT, Optical Modulator and Optical Receiver) that integrates optical and digital testing capabilities. It is also an example of a new-generation of measuring instrumentation that incorporates Ando’s technology and experience in the development of optical instrumentation such as optical spectrum analyzers, mini-OTDRs, optical multimeters; and digital instrumentation like SDH/SONET analyzers.
